Loyalife is a comprehensive loyalty management platform that helps businesses build programs that drive customer engagement, retention, and growth. Members earn points through purchases and engagement activities, then redeem them across a rich marketplace of gift cards, products, travel, and more.

## How Loyalife works

Loyalife operates on two core mechanisms:

**Earn** — Members accumulate points through purchases, engagement activities, promotional offers, and tier progression milestones.

**Burn** — Members redeem accumulated points through the Marketplace for gift cards, physical products, travel, utility payments, charity donations, and miles exchange.

These mechanisms are governed by the [Rule Engine](/user-guides/rule-engine/overview), which lets you define exactly how, when, and how many points members earn for any action.
